Hi Guys,

as per title:

Brake pads on my 2009 AM DBS V12 (ceramics discs) are almost gone... Best replace with originals from AM or are there far better alternatives on the market?

Rarely a track day, basically fast street use.

Thanks,
F.

Also it seems that on the fronts you need to remove the caliper to replace the pads... Correct?

This is what I've found so far. Can anyone recommend?

On the fronts not sure how to remove by sliding the pads out backwards as both parts of the caliper are connected with some kind of "bridge" blocking the pads from simply sliding out...

Backside no problem.

Who's got some experience with this?

No, same as any other caliper.

Have indeed read that ZR1 should be the same brake set up. They also suffer the same issues apparently...

Anyone experience with Pagid RSC2? Front Nr. 4941, rears Nr.4943...

Have got following quotes:

Pagid Fronts: 486,84€/set VAT excluded
Pagid Rears: 299,02€/set VAT excluded

OEM Aston Fronts: 1013,99€/set VAT excluded

Pad Wear Lead Set OEM Aston: € 42,20/each VAT excluded

Pagids are less then half the price, if they are equally good or better it's a no-brainer really...

Who's got them or had them on another car?

Regards,
F.

what are the known issues with the Carbon Ceramic discs/pads then?
Some of these issues have been reported (also on eg. Corvette ZR1):

- vibration
- sqeaking
- excessive wear
- damage after jet washing or using detergents to clean alloys
- ...

Many people tracking their cars with CC-brakes convert to regular steel items to reduce the cost of replacing the worn CC rotors. Replacement cost of 4 rators can be as high as 20.000,-€...
