Laughable loan car offered by AM recovery...
Discussion
So my V12S has a recurring fault with the lamba sensors resulting in the engine management light coming on togethet with the Emissions system service required message.
I took it in to works last month and it lasted a few weeks then on again so i called AM recovery who sent a techy out who turned it off and that lasted 6 days before it came back on.
I called AM recovery and the car was taken in.
2 days later no contact so obviously the car wiill be in over the weekend at least so i contacted AM recovery this morning to arrange a loan car.
They said yes no problem, we can have one delivered to you with 4 days use authorised.
2 hours later im imformed that a group F car will be delivered which is a Vauxhall Insignia or similar.
A Vauxhall Insignia???????
I told them i would rather walk and they offered no alternative and thats where it stopped so no loan car.
Pathetic
You get a Maserati from Ferrari and Mercedes S class from Porsche in the same situation.

OK, I see what you're saying, but telling them you would rather walk than use a £20k Vauxhall doesn't exactly paint you in a good light IMHO. The person on the phone would probably be quite happy to own that car, yet you just told him it was ste and clearly not good enough for an Aston Martin owner. Hardly a surprise that the conversation didn't go any further.
Each to their own of course, but I wouldn't be bothered with that as a loan car for 4 days. They're lending it, not asking you to buy it.
Well im obviously not like you and i dont think for one minute that a guy from Enterprise gives 2 hoots what i think or say and he certainly doesnt have the authority to upgrade so your point is moot. Each to their own of course, but I wouldn't be bothered with that as a loan car for 4 days. Perhaps OPs complaint should be to AML, for the repetition of an identical car fault.
It is different when my car goes to "Works" as I know its in the best hands and i'd rather it have a repetitive fault dealt with by the best than any of the rest
JUST WISH THEY GIVE ME A BLOODY ONE 77 TO KNOCK ABOUT IN WHILE THEY DO
English
Noun
Barry boy (plural Barry boys)
(slang, Britain) A person denoted by their poor taste in clothing and flashy cars; mainly used in the UK.
Never heard this expression before LOL
And no one has ever shouted it at me as I drive by with my tunes on full, my Versace silk shirt and freshly streaked golden hair (No grey) !!
I usually get "Who do you think you are? Lord Threeshires or somebody?"
I expect no less from Vauzel drivers and never react

As a serious point is Vauxhall-gate because the car was organised by AM Recovery (just a white-labelled RAC?) rather than an AM dealer?
Yes indeed, as we see above loan cars from AM dealers can be spectacular and obviously no one expects a brand for brand loan car in a recovery situation.Just something still nice and not a Vauzel
