Just a quick note to say thanks for all the notes of congratulations, one of the reasons I love this forum, you didn't have to but you did!

This has been an amazing experience, both as an obsessive Aston Martin owner & an ex-serviceman. When I first saw the thread on PH by Simon Lane, my first thought was, I'm not going to win, but I can make a donation (£100) to a great charity AND indulge my other great passion - Aston Martin!

I wanted to share a few thoughts & plans for the car:
1. The handover will take place at Aston Martin Cambridge on Wednesday & I'm honoured that both Simon & Adam Collins (RAF Red Arrows Red 10) will be there to hand me the crystal ECU. Pete Greaves (AKA PetrolPed on YouTube), IMO one of the best Vloggers will be making a video of the day & clearly I'll bore you all with photos of it.
2. The car will NOT be flipped!! Clearly everyone has their own opinions on this matter, personally I don't agree with it. Having said that, this is a life-changing asset & I am not a wealthy man; it will be sold at some point but through the correct channel (An Aston Martin Dealer) & with some of the funds passed back to the RAF BF.
3. In the short term the car will be wrapped up for the winter ready for the Spring & Summer where I am making plans to have the car tour high profile motoring events. I have no experience of this & not sure it's even possible; more work to be done. If any of you have any ideas as to what I might do, please don't hesitate to drop me a line? Oh & 'Give it to me?' doesn't count! laugh

For those that don’t follow him, Pete Greaves (AKA Petrol Ped on YouTube) made this fantastic video of the collection day on Tuesday. You can find it at https://youtu.be/vniFmJ69jhQ. He has generously offered to donate the advertising earnings to the RAF Benevolent Fund. Please watch it, the more views the more revenue we can generate for the fund. I’ll post more details of where & when you can see the car during 2018 here shortly.

Just a note to say that Red 10 is now confirmed to be at the Classic Car Show (15-18 Feb 18) at the Excel Centre (http://www.thelondonclassiccarshow.co.uk). It will be on the AMOC stand.
Please come along & bring any loose change (or notes even) as it will all go to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Have a fabulous Christmas & New Year.

I have just watched the video of the handover and must say how fabulous it is to see the car go to such a deserving winner. To everyone involved from inception to handover - and now to the proposed agenda you have for showing the car and extending its charitable life this is just a wonderful experience and for a great cause

Best wishes to you and your wife and merry Xmas from down under

Graeme
Thank you very much Graeme, kind words indeed. I’ll keep you up to date with the plans for Red 10 (@AstonRed10) during 2018.
If you’re ever over in Blighty please do come by & have a peek. Happy Christmas to you & the family.

Chaps & Chapesses,
Just a reminder, if you're coming to the London Classic Car Show at the ExCel Centre next week (Thu 15 - Sun 18 Feb 18), please drop by the AMOC Stand (CC100, over-looking the Grand Avenue). Red 10 will be there every day & we'll be on the stand Sat & Sun doing a little light fund-raising for the RAF Benevolent Fund. It would be great to see you.
Humph

Reserve price is £380k, we hope it will achieve more that that, in which case we will donate 50% of that additional amount to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

The link shows how to list a special car IMO....that's great detail but AM Cambridge with very nice photos.
Thanks Chris. Simon & his team, Philippa & myself spent days on it. Very happy with the result. Let’s hope it does the trick!
