Wonder if he meant V12 Vantage or just the V12 in the DB11.....
Is it a trick of the light or does the bonnet appear more 'bulbous' in this shot, a la DB11 (and therefore making space for a V12)?
Saying that, there's not many ways for the extra heat to get out!

they are different carsThey carry different registrations - that is to say different actual registrations are different and because the car in the link has american shape plates, it's presumably an american spec car, hence the lights above the plate in the second car
Personally, I don't see anything different in either car to the cars we've already seen, apart from the brakes - presumably they will be an option at some stage

There should be a separate thread called "2018 Vantage Bashing" and all the haters and trolls can go and be bitter and twisted there in a custom-made mutual admiration society. It gets quite tiresome.

You all need to get out more
What I don't understand is why new cars can't be designed to beautiful without the forced styling of the Gen 2 Vantage. Its not just Aston Martin who have forgotten what to do, look at this from Ferrari, no active aero, wings, diffusers, under trays, just beauty whilst an F12 is horrid in comparison
The designer of this car started with the same blank piece of paper as the designer of the Gen 2, one is stunning, one is not. Modern safety requirements have not influenced the design of the Gen 2, the spitters and grille look like they would remove your lower legs
I'm a serial Aston Martin buyer and just want classically styled, beautiful cars again, perhaps that's too much to ask?

I feel one of the reasons for not warming up the new Vantage is the horrendous Yellow so many of the press cars were built in. For me the color is so off putting. It looks like it was painted with a giant neon highlighter. This color would even make the current Vantage look awful. I think this it the same color some Firetrucks are painted. What I don't understand is why new cars can't be designed to beautiful without the forced styling of the Gen 2 Vantage.

In other colors it much nicer.
Wasn't the previous Vantage revealed in a bright colour too, like the photos in this article?

The bright colour might not to be everyone's taste but you can specify it differently online and you will be able to see it in all different specs in showrooms fairly soon.
Cars aren't classically styled because time has moved on and designers are most likely trying to design the next big thing and be forward looking. Sure they could take influences from the past but it would be a little bit boring if they just constantly rehashed the 1960s - and it would make those cars less special too, because they'd all be the same and then everyone wouldn't be happy either

Hmmm, the OP from the thread that I linked must have been freaked out from appearing on Pistonheads. He’s deleted his original content. soofsayer said:

That ferrari is beautiful.
But isnt that the issue? People of a certain age (/cough) think that the Ferrari is beautiful. But does the younger generation think so? Do the Chinese? Almost ten percent of AMLs sales last year went to Japan - do they prefer a classical look or the more modern look of the Gen 2 Vanquish? That ferrari is beautiful.
On this forum the majority would go with the Ferrari. As would I. But we're only one sub-segment of the AML buying community
But on a related topic I'd say the same thing to Kevin that I've said to DivetheWorld - saying "I don't like it" once or twice is cool, that's what the forum is for. But surely it gets to the point where saying the same thing over and over and over (and in a somewhat rude fashion) gets tedious
As my mother always told me, if you don't have anything nice to say.....admittedly that was pre-internet though, so what the hell does she know

Yes since the Japanese and Chinese are such paragons of automotive design right. On this forum the majority would go with the Ferrari. As would I. But we're only one sub-segment of the AML buying community

Hmmm, the OP from the thread that I linked must have been freaked out from appearing on Pistonheads. He’s deleted his original content. Not surprised, because somehow it made the Google News page (for Aston Martin).
If this is how PHake news begins, I had better delete the contribution being quoted.
On another GTE point, I does appear that we will see old and new Vantages racing together this year.
The GTE Am car will be the existing Vantage, because of the one year old rule.
