DB9 paint bubbling
Discussion
Hi Guys
I have some slight paint bubbling on my DB9.
Some on the lip of the roof and some on the boot shut lip near the rear wing / rear windscreen.
Unfortunately it seems in the last few days I reckon, as I did not notice this a few weeks back, the paint has flaked.
Any idea how much I'd be talking to correct this and can anyone recommend anyone to do so near Nottingham. Wary who I take it to to sort.
Anyone else had this?

Who is it?
I’m interested but chartwells seem good
Chartwells have a good reputation, but also a price to match.I’m interested but chartwells seem good
The guy I know is called Mick Booth - tel 07971848432. He doesn't have a website and operates from a small unit in Bolsover near J29a of the M1. There's no affiliation nor vested interest but he's done loads of small repairs for me over the years including the dreaded bubbles on my DB9 door handles. I'm really picky when it comes to paint jobs as it's where I started my career 30 odd years ago and he's always done outstanding work for me. He doesn't do full resprays though only small repairs.
I have sent him a message and some pictures he is going to call me tomorrow

I know a really good paint guy in Chesterfield if that's not too far away from you. It shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred pounds.
Mick got back to meReckons £2800 to do the repair and a few other bits of corrosion round the car and reckons he wants the window out to sort which I can understand where it is. Which is an absoloute pig this will get rid of corrosion completely and recommends this way of course
Or £660 to smart repair all bits of corrosion but is dubious how it will last etc
Did he offer you similar?
I expected 400-600 for the job I didn’t expect nearly 3 grand LOL!

Firstly, if your car has done 150k miles I would be looking at the smart repairs. It’s a driver not a piece of art. But £660 buys a lot of smart repair, I would shop around. I’ve never paid more than £240 for tidying up a car (and that was a Range Rover with a few issues).

As per my initial post aimed at assisting you I mentioned Chartwell's wouldn't be the cheapest around.
If its turning into a game of top trumps, knock yourself out and enquire with Works Service.
That should be good for a laugh…..
I appreciate the recommendation I do. Another quote from Crawfords for 2.5k If its turning into a game of top trumps, knock yourself out and enquire with Works Service.

I think the issue is where the paint has bubbled right on the lip of the wing near windscreen what a huge pain. I will continue looking
