I rarely visit the AMOC Forum these days. Lots of personal reasons. However, I just popped my head in and it seems that the number of regular contributors is barely more than a handful these days. That doesn’t seem very good for a prestigious club with a few thousand members. When I joined the club over 10 years ago there were masses of contributors and the varied nature of opinions was brilliant. Not saying it’s not helpful now, it is. Just not as much as in the past as far as I am concerned.

I’m sure some of those ‘regulars’ also contribute here but rather than hear from them I wonder if other AMOC PistonHeads would offer their reasons for not bothering with the clubs forum. I’m just a curious rank and file club member. Nothing suspicious.

I don’t think the Lockton’s discount is any sort of incentive. Hearing that many, like me, get a better deal elsewhere.

Their forum members do have some very good technical advice but these days there seems to be a core of people that are glued to it and respond to every discussion immediately. It seems like they’re imposing their personality and views on everything.

Not the variety of views and contributions that you get here on PH.

I’ve all but given up on their forum but keep my membership for now. I’m okay with their local meetings but find most of their HQ organised events uninteresting and attended by too many people I’ve nothing in common with except AM.

They’ve taken a direction that is no longer of any interest. I’ve no need in my life for gala dinners and black tie raffles.

I want a car club, not a dining club.
