Hi all, today when taking my AM DB7 V out of the garage I noticed that it sounded like a normal car and that the alarm didn’t function properly.
I took the car for a short run and it was very slow-it felt like it was a 1.6 trying to pull the car although it still drove smoothly.
The only thing I have done to the car lately has been this week purchasing a Ctek MXS 5.0 to charge the battery as it had gone flat.
The charger stated that it has a 8 stage charging process with the last one being a pulse trickle charge so I left it on to go on to stage 8 which it hasn’t even after a couple of attempts.

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice.
I have also spoken to Derek of Aston Martin in Edinburgh and it looks like a new battery is needed as the car seems to be on limp home mode.
I have left the car for 7 days and the charge on the Ctek has dropped from 7 to 3 so I am now convinced that the battery is the issue.
I have checked out some deals on a replacement battery but some confusion exists about whether my MY 2000 W requires a AGM battery or a standard one.
My existing one is a Hella 95ah but once I punch in my reg no even 70 ah ones are recommended!
I will go for a 90,95 or 100ah and a crank of around 800 upwards.
Exide, Yuasa, Bosch, seem to be the most popular versions from £87 upwards for 3/4 year guarantee.
Anyone any idea re the AGM battery choice ?

Many thanks for your help.
After getting the battery replaced my next step is to check the fuses for the ECU and the Fuel pumps as it looks like either the fuses or the fuel supply is the cause I’m told.
I will give Peter a call tomorrow thanks.

Problem solved !
Aston Martin Edinburgh told me to check the fuel pump and ecu fuses which my friend did as well as all the other fuses and 2 of them were out.
My car runs like a dream again !
Thanks again for everyone’s help.
