AGM or non AGM battery for v8v

My local AM dealer is selling an Interstate non AGM battery for v8v for $275. I found an Autocraft AGM battery for $195. The tech says for our cars, AGM does not really matter. I've always thought AGM batteries last longer. Thoughts?

Also, does the brand of the battery matter?

Do you need dealer to clear settings? Dealer says they clear previous settings out after they install the new battery, but I don’t think AM are like German cars where you have to register them.
