Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would like to meet up any Sunday in July/August for a run out?

Last time I attended one of these last year we had around 10 cars, so it would great if we get those kind of numbers again.

I was thinking if the "south" contingent (including myself as I live in Lincolnshire) meet up at Wetherby services (or another suitable location) and then drive north to meet the guys from NE area??

Obviously we will have to social distance but I don't see the harm in stopping for a bite to eat somewhere en route.

My only stipulation is when the time comes it's chucking it down I'll have to cancel as I don't drive my car when it's wet.

Let us know what dates your all available so we can choose one to try and get a good turnout, plus please give any good ideas for routes to drive as I don't know the roads up north.

So who's interested??

Prob good for any date except the first Sunday of Aug at the moment.... Might be best if you can pick a date sooner rather than later, otherwise people may get booked up with other things. Can't hold every Sunday open you know. biggrin

Apologies for the terrible grammar above, that's what happens when you edit a post at the last second! getmecoat
Yeah ok, so is the 9th ok with you??

If so and if we have more of support for the 9th August we can set a date???

Please can you all let me know??

It's up to you guys where you want to meet up and drive to, but personally I was thinking if anyone wants to first meet at the A1 MOTO Grantham North services very early on that Sunday, then meet up with the Yorkshire contingent at A1 Wetherby services, then upto Scotch Corner Hotel for the NE contingent, then go for a really good run out, james witton has great idea with Castle Howard or Richmond Market Place.

I don't really want to go much further north from Scotch corner.

The date seems to be the 9th August if everyone is ok with that??

This will be a cracking day out, we now have 13 cars, ranging from a DB7 GTA to a new gen Vantage, I can't wait.

Let me know what you think?

Thanks.

Hi all
It looks like quite a few can’t make the 16th, so please revert back to the 9th.
I will sacrifice myself on my mother in laws Sunday Lunch instead.

If you are meeting at Richmond, can I suggest going through Reeth and Keld?
Then to Kirkby Stephen and Sebergh, back througg Askkrigg.
You could even have a socially distanced stop at the Fat Lamb - the pub ran by the car enthusiast that we stopped at last time.
Have fun.

James
I've been talking to a few of you today and the 9th August is a better day so thats the date set.

Andy, (soofsayer) has kindly offered to organise a route and will also book a socially distance lunch so before we book can we have confirmed numbers please?

Sorry that james witton can't attended, definitely next time.

Currently we have 13 cars coming so that's ace, this will be a great day out.

Hi, I’m new to the forum (first post) I bought a DBS during lockdown and now things have started to get moving again I’m keen to get some use out of it. I’m based in Northumberland so Scotch Corner would be the likely meet point for me if there is any space for me to tag along?

Strange how things happen but I actually went to look at a Ferrari California at an AM Dealership, my ambition had always been to have a Ferrari by 30 (albeit Im 33 now) and the California was the only one in my price range. Once there I saw a low mileage DBS and it immediately reminded me of the first time I seen it Casino Royale and forgot I had come to look at the California, I thought it may still be out of price range but was surprised at the depreciation, I had always looked at them as a rare car which held firm value. Long story short I did the lock down click and collect and took the car home in May.

There was a couple of issues which was picked up by AM dealership before collection but as most of the staff where furloughed they arranged for this to be done once the dealership was back up and running. It’s booked in for the end of this month where it will also have a service, if there is anything I should be checking or looking out for before I send it in your guidance would be hugely appreciated.

I look forward to hopefully meeting you all soon. Dan
Added you to the list, your DBS looks fantastic,

For those of us meeting in the Wetherby vicinity would you be interested in coffee and bacon sandwich for breakfast at Bowcliffe Hall, which is not much distance from Wetherby on the A1M. They can accommodate us on the terrace for under £5 a head? I thought it might make a nice start to the day and even better if they let us line up the cars outside the hall for a photo? Subject to interest I can get that arranged....
That's a great idea Andy, I'm in, we'll have to work out the timing that morning as i believe the north contingent are meeting us somewhere?

Fat Lamb up near Kirkby Stephen now booked for lunch. It worked well last time and if it’s not broken...

May I suggest that the if the NE contingent (and any others NW etc) would prefer we meet there for lunch rather than all meeting at Scotch Corner first? From the Wetherby side it would give us a much better run out instead of the boring A1 and from the Newcastle side likewise?
Hi Andy, thanls for booking all this, i don't have a problem with the above.

Paul

I've updated the list on page 1 regarding people who have confirmed meeting at Bowcliffe Hall.

Please can you all confirm if you'll be coming down from the north or meeting at the Hall?

Maybe if the North contingent get together and plan a route to take you to the Fat Lamb for lunch, you'll be able to avoid the A1 and plan a great route south?

Hi James, great you're coming now, I've added you on the list on page 1.

What seems to be going on now is the Wetherby contingent are now meeting at Bowcliffe Hall and then travelling to meet the NE and West contingents for lunch at the Fat Lamb.

It'll be a great day out!!!

In the one I went to last year we stopped off at a couple of scenic places, but don't worry you'll be enjoying yourself too much to worry about the the distance.

A few of us will be heading over from Lancaster and Cumbria. We can meet you either at Hawes or somewhere else on your route. Just let us know which way you will be coming.
That's great news, do you know how many will be coming with you and what cars?

I've added you to the list on page 1 and separated us into groups just so we all know who's coming from where and the numbers for lunch.

Thanks
