Recently watched Jayemm's youtube vid on his opinion of AM's core business products, and why he thinks that by these which are not selling in numbers is why AM is in a current state of trouble.

I am also wondering why the likes of the new Vantage in particular is not selling in competitive numbers (if you omit the very recent effect of the virus of course).
To me, the latest Vantage, on paper at least, seems to be a fantastic option if you don't want to go down the AMG, Porsche, Ferrari or Lambo route.
The re-introduction of a manual gearbox should also attract customers who are really in to their driver's cars.
The Vantage (from all model years) is a stunningly good looking car and well proportioned car with much higher practicality levels than many of its competition.

So it appears that all the ingredients for a successful high performance car are there, does it then all come down to price and reliability?, or is there a problem with customer care and post-purchase relations? Can any of you AM owners shed shed some light?

I guess the question could be looked at in a different way.

To me, the AM Vantage (being probably their main product sale), is classed as a Sports GT car, of which there are not that many 'affordable' options on the market these days. A sports GT being a car that offers a level of practicality and reliability that would allow you to go on a 2 week driving tour holiday in relative comfort but also be agile and powerful enough to be fun on the track.

So if you are in the market to spend a max of £120,000 on a brand new Sports GT car, why is it that Porsche's 911 are succeeding where AM is not?
Or is it a case that BMW M4 and even the Mustang is drawing away prospective AM buyers to a lower budget range for what would offer something of a similar experience?

The option of a manual gearbox would be a big tick box for myself and many others, so this is why I've not put other cars in the list to compare.
Trying to compare a 'tick box' like for like to gain a better appreciation of the issue that AM currently enduring.

I do hope they turn a corner somehow (no pun intended), because AM is a great brand with a lot of pedigree.
