Just a satisfying bit of fun really, but could almost be a pub quiz question.

Enjoyed a wonderful first drive of the year in my Aston Martin.
Headed to a main dealer for a pre-arranged (no road tax required) MoT, to be carried out in-house.
No driving distance limit applies to that rule.

I was very well looked after whilst waiting, sitting on the leather settees, amongst all the expensive glass and travertine.
No added (AML) cost of course, just the standard MoT price. Passed with no faults.
Great driive home too (no road tax required).

There is a long bridge to drive under on those journeys. Yippee! Amazing that so much noise is allowed. We won't hear that with EVs.

Didn't know that. So I could drive from Essex to Edinburgh and back with no MoT or tax, as long as it was booked in to a Edinburgh MoT station?

In theory yes. A failure might be awkward though.
They do not refer to a mileage limit, but perhaps there might be a 'taking the Mickey' distance limit.

"Hello, hello, hello Sir.
You have given an explanation to me, but have I understood correctly Sir, that the nearest MoT station which you trust to jack up your car correctly, is in Edinburgh ?

I notice that your test date coincides with the Edinburgh Festival. You are not a comedian are you?"
