Has anyone else noticed how AM used cars at main dealers seem to be bucking the trend and prices are holding strong across the board with some going up?

I’m really keen to buy my first AM from a main dealer but I’m hesitant given how most other marques are on the downward trend with lots of cars not selling too. The AMs I have enquired about have chequered histories which surprises me.

I’m looking at a Vanquish 2 or DB11 as my preferred choice but early Vantages and DB11s keep catching my eye.

Anyone else hesitant given the financial precipice we currently sit on?

I think inevitably you just do it ! I spent a bit of time looking at Dealers stock and found a variation in both Price and the Dealers willingness to do a Deal .
HWM I can thoroughly recommend both for servicing costs and realistic retail prices .
Wheel Alignment at Newport Pagnell Works £450 plus vat , Wheel Alignment at HWM £250 incl vat , Wheel Alignment at Chiltern £250 incl vat .
I dont want to labour the point and you will find out all of these realities yourself but retail Prices can be " puffed up "and servicing costs likewise .
Chiltern are very close to me and they are a very pleasant team to deal with.

I must need to go to spec savers because I have seen no evidence of bucking the trend with prices holding strong and some going up. Do you have any examples of this? I watch asking prices a lot and see the opposite.

There is supposed to be a DB11 facelift incoming, that will hammer used DB11 prices. Vanq2 there are always plenty of cars for sale (AM must have produced a lot?) so unlikely to miss out with a bit of patience, they’ve come down since last year. Alternately life is too short so just buy what you want and don’t worry about ‘what if’.
I share your thoughts on the DB11 drop and Vanquish 2 being more stable. The positive of the DB11 is the extra rear leg room for my kids so it would get more use as a family.

With regards to bucking trends I’m talking specifically cars at AM main dealers; I’ve seen nothing come up at a price point that feels right. The two cheapest Vanquish’s are just under 80k but that car spent the first part of its life in Guernsey and was imported, the next is at 93k for a 16plate but it’s black with black wheels and black interior so looks chav to me.

Have you looked at this blue one, I thought it was a nice spec:

My AM is black on black, my other 2 cars are, and I think most of my previous cars have been lol, I’ve never been described as a chav but hey, each to their own (no offence taken). beer
That is a lovely looking car, unfortunately the mileage is too high for me and I’m only looking at main dealer as I want the warranty for peace of mind.

The Timeless Warranty I agree is well worth having . Can I ask what your own thoughts are , I know you mentioned DB11 and Vanquish and I have to admit that the DB11 is starting to grow on me . It still has a way to fall in second hand values however but the Vanquish less so .
I’ve had a lot of cars and lost a lot of money on them so I’m probably not the best person to ask. That said, I am now very cautious with my purchases.

Anyway, back to your question…..I really like the interior and usability of the DB11, but in all honestly I don’t think they are an exciting car to look at. There are a lot of them around and about a year ago dealers were really struggling to sell them (my nearest dealer had circa 25 DB11s on site and only half a dozen other models). I think they will depreciate quite quickly this year and continue to lose money. However I think the Vanquish may drop a little more in the short term but I can’t see good cars dropping below 70k. For really safe money I think a manual DBS is probably the best route, but that’s beyond the £80k I want to spend.
