V8 Vantage Exhaust Mod'
Discussion
During my test drive yesterday, the dealer mentioned that the exhaust on the car had been modified to nullify the effect of the exhausts valve, thereby allowing that beautiful sound its full voice a lot lower down the rev range.
Even better the dealer said the mod' was available to me at around £105.
I'm very tempted! Apart from annoying the neighbours is there any reason, from a technical or legal standpoint, not to go for it?

Apparently the mod is done at the dealership. It can't be done at the factory as the car has to pass certain noise standards, hence why the valves there in the first place.
I'm told the mod keeps the valve open permanently. I'm not sure if it's reversible, should you ever consider it necessary.

They could do that on my DB9 and DB7 vantage, but it is REALLY load and a bit intrusive. Idealy louder at say 2500/3000 revs would be better IMO
Went back to the dealer today and listened to the unrestricted sound. It began to growl at about 2900(ish). Dealer said the mod' adds about 15% to bhp, a stunning gain for such a simple tweak. Can it be true?
