Just curious as when I had my TVR's the car club was a hmmm, sensitive subject on PH. I attended a local meet last week and apart from the fact my car was the new kid on the block, everyone I spoke to was friendly. I confess I knew little or nothing of the models represented as my interest is in the later cars, but I had a pleasant eve. I can't recall seeing the club mentioned here so just asking for opinions/experiences.

There's quite a few people on Pistonheads who are also AMPC members. Have you also looked at the AMOC forums? Rich...
Not looked on forums yet Rich, and leaving myself wide open to ridicule, enlighten me as to what AMPC is please.

Some of the AMOC moderators come over here too...

Every AMOC do I have been to has been friendly. There used to be some light-hearted banter about the newer cars not being "proper Astons" from the owners of the older cars but even that seemed to die out a few years back.

It is usually worth going along to a concours - more shiny Astons of all types than you'll see in a month of Sundays. Usually very chatty owners too. The Autumn one is fast approaching (5th/6th September) and is at Yeovilton.

If you want to know waht you are looking at then Tim Cottingham's site is a very good guide: www.astonmartins.com
Brilliant and going to be extended reading. Thank you.

Good to meet you and Tony at the Woodman. I've been an AMOC member for years and found the monthly area meets cheerful and helpful. (I can only speak for Area 13(Dorset/Wilts).Hope you enjoy your new car.
