I'm thinking of buying a rx8 as a daily driver.

I can live with the crap mpg , the high tax cost however my daily commute is only 2 miles .

Could you stick a turbo timer on rx8 so i could park the car lock it but the timer would keep the engine running for 5 more minutes ?

I've also seen a few people saying rev it up to 4-5k then just turn the engine off with foot still on throttle.

In the winter 2 miles might well not be enough to warm it up sufficiently.

Rje rev and turn off trick is supposed to work, but I'd never trust it. I used to go round the block another couple of times til it was warmed up.

That said I wouldn't buy an RX8 to commute 2 miles in. Get a bike for that ! ??

Sod that to much trouble .

So would a turbo timer get round the flooding issue as i could lock the car and have the engine ticking over for another 5 mins before turning off.
