Hey everyone, I was wondering if you could help me try establish what direction I should be heading with my little side project I started recently as I'm a bit tone deaf to what's popular in the wider JDM culture outside of Evos.

I've basically started making little metal enamel pins (I started with my car)...

then did an Evo 3 (told you I like Evos).

What I wanted to know from you Pistonheads is, which models of cars would you want to see if you were to buy one of these?

I've got a Tommi Makinen, R34 GT-R, R32 GT-R and Subaru Impreza in the works but I don't know where the big followings are nowadays. Any and all help appreciated!

I stopped paying attention after about 2003. Nothing that exciting seems to be coming out.
Me too but I think I might be missing out on stuff like the GT86, (did they ever get popular??)

I had to google what a Pao was smile See, the cube looks like something that could have a cult following and that never occured to me!

Why limit to jdm.

Beetles
Camper
Classic 50s and 60s sportscars... The enamel pin ties nicely
Classic le man cars
Classic F1.
What about driver numbers
Helmet designs.

Also do a how to thread - curious as to where you'd even start.

Great business idea op.

ETA... Old trains and aircraft.
Thanks for the suggestions, a cartoonified F-14 would be wicked! Infact so many of your suggestions are cool!

Why stick to JDM?..at the moment it is a hobby and I have a particular interest in JDM cars, I'm also trying to build a core "fanbase" before diversifying.

The 350z isn't a bad suggestion at all!

Cool, looks like only that Evo one available at present? Let us know when you do some more and I'll get myself a set of the various designs
That's correct, I will have the Celica GT-Four today and incoming I have an R32 GTR, Tommi Makinen Evo6 in a couple of weeks.

Next up designs are the R34-GTR and a Impreza Type-R.

VW Golf MK5, Toyota Supra & Silvia S15 in the pipeline.

As I mentioned it's a hobby and I only have so much time and money to invest into it smile for what it is worth the shipping is buttons even internationally 2gbp smile

Thankyou everyone who has contributed so far! Every post has been useful to me.

No worries, I'll buy that and the Evo tomorrow, then.

For my part, I'll take an AE86 Trueno (white and black, naturally), and a red Suzuki Cappuccino if those end up on your list.
The corolla does seem to have a big following because of Japanese culture. I bet it would look cool too. The Cappuccino might be a bit niche I think though.
