I know they're different beasts but I was just wondering how the Supra TT (not single turbo) compares with the MR2 turbo for performance, handling and sheer driving pleasure.

I know Gazboy stepped up to a Supra from an MR2 turbo.

Just curious I guess. My car is very quick (modified) and I love driving it but I do wonder what a car capable of being tuned easily to 400+ bhp feels like.

Gazboy, I've just looked at your profile and your old MR2 is at about the same state of tune as mine, including Bilsteins all round and -40mm springs. I reckon mine is producing about 280+ bhp at 1.1 bar in all gears with manual boost controller - it certainly feels like it. It could even be more. I recently upgraded the intercooler and fan to a better side mount set-up and this has made a noticable difference to torque at mid-high revs.

However, the thing about the Supra that appeals to me is the fact that it is twin turbo with a straight 6 cylinder engine. That must mean sharp throttle response and good low down torque, which is important to me. I'm hoping that the Apexi Power FC, which I have just bought for MR2 will sharpen things up even more and provide more seamless power delivery. It's good now but I can't wait to drive it when it has been mapped properly.

I will have a look at Supras though - I'm still curious.

Thanks for your replies.
