Honda S2000 buying tips

Hi all,

Just in the process of offloading my current fleet, have decided that an S2000 seems to tick most of the boxes for an all-round car. I'm looking to spend about £5000. This seems to bring up some fairly decent examples, would ideally like red, or perhaps red leather...

Is the early geometry really bad for sending one into the hedge backwards? Can this be fixed by suspension upgrades/set-up?

Also, I have noticed that a few of the imports have the sat-nav screen. Now I know this won't work, but does anyone have experience of retrofitting a touchscreen stereo/sat-nav/car pc into this space? Reckon if I could manage it would be brilliant.

Any other common faults/foibles to look out for?

Thanks for all the tips, good stuff! Hopefully my Barge is selling tomorrow so the hunt can begin in earnest. I do quite fancy one of the ones with the Nav screen, I reckon there's the basis of a great project there...

I've seen quite a few around the 5k mark, this one looks cheap but does the engine malarkey sound dodgy?

I had looked at early Boxsters but would want a 3.2. Sadly even the bottom of the market is more than I want to spend, and don't fancy Porsche maintenance costs!
