BMW Insured Warranty - any good?

We're buying a used 4yr old 525d M-Sport that someone got a bit tick happy on the options list, so as a result is loaded with a lot of tech, which does worry me slightly if something goes wonky, so I'm looking to get some warranty cover.
It's elegable for the 'comprehensive' cover, but as its done 67k it jumps up a fair bit, but the cover looks to be pretty good compared to your typical used car warranty.
Anyone have any experience? Part of me thinks to take it out for a year & potentially hammer it for any little niggle & then consider a reduction in the cover, or the usual self insured warranty fund pot...
