New F11 535d on 19". Rides and handles like st on RFT's so have put 4 new non RFT's on it at huge unexpected cost redfacemad. Kwik Fit have tried balancing the wheels twice now but my arse still shackes like Beyonce's does at the Superbowl when I hit 70mph. KF took 20 mins to balance one particular 'difficult' wheel so they were doing their best - and with me hovering too. I suspect its a buckled wheel due to an impact on the harsh non compliant RFT's and its going in to BMW next week.

Has anyone else had any issues? I remember an RS4 B7 I had needed new wheels annually FOC from Audi so even big companies can get these things wheely wrong!

How anyone could find 19s on the new G30 harsh is beyond me wink The tyre wall is massive!

The runflat question is irrelevant really these days. If you hit any wheel hard enough it is going to buckle. BMW did have some issues with certain wheels on the E9* and E6* years ago when they were first starting to appear but since then as soon as a buckled wheel is mentioned everyone thinks that jumping up and down at BMW will get them a new one.

Also, the B7 RS4 never suffered from buckled wheels. So if you were going through a set of those every year I would suggest it's where you are driving that may be the problem! The B5 RS4 suffered from buckled wheels which if a customer requested Audi would upgrade to harder compound versions. I must have arranged the changing of about 20 sets for RS4 customers in the day!
Good to hear a few different experiences here but you are right about the Audi - it was a B5 I had smokin

I think I know the pothole that may have caused this as we drove over it with no issue yesterday in another car but it made me and the missus jump on the19" RFT's and we both swore in sync! Seriously massive jolt to the car. Will take a pic today...

There seemed to be little logic to the KF balancing machine to be fair - was very hit and miss and seemed illogical on all 4 wheels! Havent used them for years but they just had the best price this time and would refund the 'new valve' and 'disposal' costs as I didn't need these (and unlike any online supplier).

Cheers

2 buckled wheels on mine over 80k miles. 19" wheels with run flats have no give when you hit a pot hole.

Absolutely exactly my experience and thoughts... I dont drop £550 on new tyres in a new car at the drop of a hat - smarts a bit!

Good news - the wheels are fine and BMW have balanced them all - no shake now smile I think KF's machine was on the blink as the guy did do his best twice... Now to get my KF balancing cost back as it cost another £28 at MD...
