Interested that the 340i with the MPPK has less torque than the auto (i.e. When it's remapped it is given less torque) - presume this is to protect the gearbox. But the manual M140i has the same torque as the auto - both of which have more than the 340i. So, I'm wondering if a) I'm wrong and the torque in manual M140s is less than autos or b) whether the manual 340 has a different gearbox...

Sorry my point was that the auto 340
Is remapped to 369 ft/lb whereas the manual remapped to 350 ft/lb when surely the gearbox can handle the same torque (369) as the 140?

I know that. But my question is: given that the 140 must have the same gearbox as the 340 (or am I wrong in thinking this) why can't the torque in the manual MPPK 340 be the same as the manual 140?

No idea - if you're that bothered, ask BMW.

Exactly. And BMW haven't a clue.
