E91 engine vibration issue, dual mass flywheel or injector?
Discussion
Hi,
Quick question, a higher than normal vibration has developed over the last 2 weeks at idle and low gears, taken to a garage and they have identified a faulty injector, although they suggest they think it is also a knackered Dual Mass Flywheel, getting the injector replaced to begin to see if it fixes the vibration problem, however, if it doesn't I have been quoted £1000 for DMF replacement with non-oem part.
Is it essential to get the DMF changed immediately or will it continue to run "okay" (based on current vibration levels being pretty low) for 1,2, 3 months with progressive vibration increase before needing changing? Conscious I use the car for work and don't want it to fail suddenly whilst out and about.
Also, are the two issues totally unrelated, or could there be a connection between the injector failing due to the DMF being on its way out or is it completely coincidental that I have both issues which are often diagnosed by increases in vibration.
Any experience or nuggets of information would be gratefully received as they are doing phase 1 (injector change) .
Thanks

Hi chaps, thanks for the replies, apologies for slow response, been away with work for several days, on my BMW is really quite a slight vibration, there is absolutely no rattle, the increased vibration is at idle and up through gears 1-3, above that you cant tell any difference in the vibration, there is no vibration at high speed whatsoever and it runs as smooth as it did before.
I am picking the car back up from the garage today so will see whether I think there is any difference in the vibration levels now the injector has been changed, as I said in the previous post the garage said there is no change in the vibration, which is a kicker since I have now spend nearly £600 to get it diagnosed and injector changed.
Will revert back once I have driven it post injector change
Thanks
