When did the N53 go into the E90 330i?

I've been reading a few threads about this but there's so much contradictory information. Was it from 57 plate onwards? I know it went in before the LCI changes but that's all I know for certain.

Excellent, cheers folks. The reason I was confused is because some of the earlier cars on Auto Trader seem to have been listed as 272bhp cars incorrectly.

I do plenty of DIY so no issues there. I still feel the better power and economy of the N53 is probably worth the risk.
