340i M Performance Power and Sound Kit
Discussion
Hi
Just had this fitted and although the exhaust has definitely been fitted (being obvious to see), I am having my doubts as to whether the re-map has been done properly. There is no noticeable difference in performance and the sport display dials have not changed their max numbers (the blurb says that as part of the re-map, the sports dials are updated to reflect the higher power and torque. Power is supposed to say 265kw (it says 240) and torque 500nm (it says 480).
The dealer is completely trustworthy, so I suspect error rather than swindlers. The car also had an iDrive update done at the same time. If this was done after the remap, perhaps that restored the sports dials to factory settings?
Does anyone else have this fitted and if so, please could you have a look at what your sport dials say?
Thanks

Thanks for the comments.
I have found photographic internet evidence that the max numbers change. Well, certainly the torque dial. The one in the photo I found read 560 Nm. BMW has also confirmed that they should change.
Yes, I have also read a few things that say you need a bit of time / an Italian tune-up for the car to adjust. Will have a go when I get a chance.
However, I have booked it in with the dealer for them to investigate.
Just a bit frustrating as it is not a cheap kit. The exhaust does sound good though.

Just to close this matter, the car went in and they "found" that they had not installed a bit of software. It was apparently then installed and the sports displays now read correctly (e.g. 560 NM). I noticed a little bit more shove at low speeds, but can't honestly say I have noticed a big overall difference. Worth it for the exhaust though.
Cheers.

Others on Bimmerpost's F30 section have reported a very noticeable increase in power from the MPPSK on the 340i. There may be an element of placebo, to which some are more susceptible than others, but given the issue you have had with the power displays, I would be a little concerned that all your dealer have actually done on this last visit is enabled the modified power displays. So I would be tempted to test it.Cheers.
While rolling road figures are often optimistic in my view (telling paying customers what they want to hear), I would be tempted to go along to one of the sessions where other 340is with MPPSK are being tested (arranged on the Bimmerpost forum) and see how your car compares. A few hp either way would be normal - but it would be pretty easy to see if they hadn't done the power part of the MPPSK.
So I took the car out for an Italian tune-up. I'm pretty sure it has the extra power and torque. The car felt quick. It didn't feel quite as quick as the M3, but that is not surprising given it has about 90 less hp.
I kept an eye on the sports dials and they consistently hit an indicated c. 490/500 nm and about 370 hp. I worked out the latter because the dial got half way between the 420 indicator and the 560 indicator.
