I've spent more time in my 5 series now and overall I'm having a positive experience, few minor issues that are starting to do my head in.

Firstly when the car is cold I am getting juddering when pulling away, it's intermittent and has caught me out a few times pulling out into a busy road, almost causing me to stall. Online research suggests it may be a common problem, some say it's fluid on the flywheel, some say the flywheel itself, some say it's a design flaw with the cold fluid not getting through into the clutch system.

It's a minor thing but it's not what u expect on a 6 year old low mileage 40 grand car.

Other issues are just irritating interior rattles, some are defo coming from the seats but the ones bugging me are from the dash board.

What can I do to stop or reduce these, please don't say turn the music up?

And before anyone says, why didn't u hear them on a test drive. My answer to that is there's a big difference between a test drive and about 750 miles worth of driving.

Oh well.

I will see what I can do with the rattles. The bit of juddering isn't an issue. Just not something you expect from BMW.

Still a great car all round.

I get the passenger seat belt noise. That is easily fixed tho. There's defo creaks from the dash area as well.

It is a very well made interior, I bought the car for size and a bit of comfort. I do wish it was auto tho lol.

I could sell it, probably at a 1000 pound loss and find another with auto. But at my price point I think I will be looking at higher mileage or non m sport spec.

My dash defo creaks on bad surfaces and even a little when turning. Very very irritating.

As I've said already tho, great car. Would be better with a petrol engine but you can't have everything can you?

Really been enjoying my car today, took the gf and her kids shopping then down the m1 to a nice pub for a nice meal.

Car was an absolute pleasure to drive and a great place to be, these things are brilliant motors. I can only imagine how good one would be in automatic and petrol form.

The m sport suspension also makes for brilliant handling, I've been throwing this thing about like it's a fiesta, not a big saloon car.

As for rattles... I don't know if it's just me but I checked the tyre pressures for first time since I bought it, one front tyre was under inflated, the other was over inflated. One rear tear was almost right and the other under inflated. I corrected them all to the right levels and since then I've had hardly any creaks from the dash. It may just be coincidence and Down to the road surface etc..., Either way the car handled even better with the tyres done properly.

While on the motorway I was also thinking what else I could have bought that met my needs and had similar mileage to the F10, nothing else stacked up, all your passata, Mondeo, insignias, Hyundai i40, Mazda 6, just can't touch the BMW. Mercedes e class, they look nice but in my opinion the interior is a bit more old fashioned, the Audi A6 a stunning car, I would buy one, but with my budget it would have done 90k not 50k.

Very happy man today. Will be less happy in a few months when I hand over 550 quid to BMW for a service lol.

The occasional clutch judder is not a problem. To be honest I think it was mostly just me adjusting to a new car.

The creaking dash is really annoying me. I mentioned it to BMW servicing and of course they just want 90 quid for an engineer to do a road test where he will tell me... Yes there is a creaking from the dash, we either need to strip it down to find the cause or replace the dash at a cost of twenty thousand pounds plus fitting.

I really need a solution.
