BMW warranty page no longer provides VIN

Does anyone know why the bmw warranty site no longer shows the vin number? It was useful to decode the vin and get the spec of car especially when looking at used cars with inaccurate options listed

No idea - that was a really handy site.

I can only guess it was maybe a security thing.

That's annoying.

As already pointed out, it was really useful for finding the full spec when looking at used cars.

Yes, especially useful for options that aren't readily spotted in photos like Xenons, split-fold rear seats in Saloons, etc.

Hopefully someone will find an alternative way of finding out!

I was always surprised that it was so easy to find the VIN from the reg plate and used it extensively for finding specs of cars...

My guess would be it's something to do with the Data Protection Act ?

Used to get this from the ECP website a few years back, used it for years but eventually they pulled it.

Now to find another VRM to VIN site.
