Just Ordered 340i Shadow Edition.

Hello Everyone.

My first posting on PistonHeads so please break me in gently :-)

I've just ordered a 340i shadow edition. Now the waiting begins.... The car has been stuck at status 1100 for while, so hoping it starts its journey through the factory soon :-)
Does anyone have a view on how long these are taking to be built?

Its a saloon.

Unfortunately I had an 'accident' and hit 'select all' on the options, so I guess this might affect the time. The Dealer quoted 1st week in December for the car to be with me. I was hoping it would have moved from status 1100 by now, but I guess I'll have to be patient. :-)

Wow, I hope I’m not waiting that long for mine. I was hoping mine would arrive in December at the latest.....

Finally it's moved from status 1100 to 1200....so I guess things are progressing..just slowly..

Some times some dealer good will, is a lot more valuable than what you might save trying to shave them to the bone....just can't wait for mine to arrive now. :-)

Received an email from the dealer last week that said BMW had again pushed the build back, this time by another 3 weeks, so I'll be lucky if I see the car by second week of December. Honestly, it's driving me to the edge of reason. Of course, registering the car in mid-December is financially not the best move so even if the car does arrive in December I'll probably bite the bullet and leave it until 1st January so it's a 2018 car. I could go into a full scale rant, but suffice to say, I honestly I can't comprehend how it can take this long to build a customer-ordered car. I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.

Was yours loaded with many extras? I wonder if that could be a reason. I know I had to get some kind of special permission to be able to order digital dash as well as HUD... I wonder if this may impact my delivery time.

So mine finally arrived 21st December.... There were a couple of issues getting the MPPSK fitted which BMW engineering had to sort out, but all in all I am a very happy man. I think I got just the right extras, and the new exhaust kit really makes the car in my opinion...Now I just need to wait for some dry roads and warmer weather. :-)
