I've had my 2006 335d for 3 years now, and have put on 50k miles. I really find myself wanting a 335i cab. Then again when I do my trip back to see family (Leeds) from London, I really enjoy having a diesel because I can keep it at a good speed and not get punished for fuel economy.

Has anyone swapped their 335d for a 335i? Did you regret it or was it the best decision you made?

Thanks guys, is the road tax £500+?

Is there any work I should ensure is done before I buy one?

I guess I just fancy a change, and should just do it. I heard one start up and it just sounded much better than my diesel sadly.

I went from a 2007 335d to a 2010 z4 35i.

Engine sounds nicer, yes. It’s quicker overall, but not massively so. can get 30+ on a long m-way run.

Going from e9x 335d to e93335i wouldn’t be enough of a change for me - sure, the roof comes off, but it’s the same view out of the windscreen, same dash, etc... and it’s something like a 250kg weight penalty for that roof!

Considering that, if you do go for it, I wouldn’t buy one with the 19” wheels, they may look good, but it’ll be crack city... frown

How about a z4? wink
That extra weight is something to think about, do you not miss the 335d? I'm just used to its power delivery. When I drive other peoples cars they just feel signficantly slower wobble
