n54 335i injectors
Discussion
hi all, I was thinking of replacing my injectors on my 2007 335i and a few things I'm not sure about. firstly they seem to range massively in price anything from 30 quid each off ebay obviously from china, to 300 quid for 3 recon ones, or 300 quid EACH from euro car parts, minus discount codes obviously, I'll pay what ever they cost but I don't believe in paying more than I need to as I like value for money so what is a fair price for these? can they be reconditioned, I was under the impression from some folks on here that they couldn't?, Also is it as easy a swap as SOME youtube clips make out? as others suggest they need coding and lastly there seems to be 2 types, it seems that some are a slightly different design, is it that on my year of car they will be one or the other, or is it the case I have to take one out and look to double check? Thanks guys

Bizarre, I eventually found the page with the list of parts for the injector rail etc, the injector was item 8, but no price for it, very strange, unlikely id go with dealer parts though hence why Im on here asking about best deals etc

Might be worth reading this e90post thread: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15... - summary appears to be that there's two part numbers for the N54 injectors, one for you (££££), and one for BMW franchises to use when doing mandatory recalls (merely ££).
Thanks for the info, probably more confused now after sifting through the available links I get the impression there are various versions and part numbers (index 6, 9 and 12??? what is that?), however one link did say they were £500 a set, but how do I know if they are for my car? is it as easy a job to fit as some clips i've seen make out?helix402 said:
They were more than that last time I bought some, can’t remember exactly I’m afraid. They are in theory straight forward to change though I have had one seized one which I had to remove with a slide hammer. New no from the top of injector needs inputting to the DME.
yeah some of the clips I saw recommend a slide hammer, I think they're 40 quid for the tool but other guys seem to be able to pull them out with a sturdy hook of some kind Andy70 said:

10 Decoupling element 13537564751 £ 8.10. That's for 6. didn't come up with the price of the injectors on the BMW site, maybe cos I couldn't be bothered to go and check my vin number and just manually put my details in. So it's as simple as that then, pull them out carefully and put the new ones in? after removing all the other necessities too obviously Sir_Dave said:

Why is it only me that cant seem to locate these injectors at the prices you guys can find them for, despite me typing in part numbers, looking at the links provided, I've came up with nothing, technology clearly doesn't like me!!!
You need to join e90post, then post in this thread to ask Cotswold BMW for a price: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12...Andy70 said:

You just reply to the thread, then Cotswold will quote your post with the pricing, they go on there most days.
great thanks, so do I just quote the part number from the reply I had earlier? as from some research I done there are 2 types, or is that not the case? cheers for every ones helphelix402 said:
I’d let the dealer choose the part no so you get the correct latest part, they’ll need your reg or last 7 digits of chassis no.
Oh, i thought the point of this was that I put an alternative part number in to get a large saving? Sorry for the confusion but yes I'd rather them select the part to make sureSir_Dave said:

just curious, how do every day 'Joes' like us get these ummm secret part numbers from? just curious while im on a roll, I believe these turbos suffer from waste gate rattle and I got a receipt for a turbo advisory from BMW in 2015 saying they may need attention, however my mechanic recons they seem ok for now, how much do turbos cost officially from BMW and how much with unofficial part numbers? May as well just replace them one day if they do need to come out
