330i/430i any experience out there?
Discussion
By way of update....
I tried a 330i and really didn’t like the engine. It felt lacking in torque, a bit busy and not that frugal.
So, I then tried a 430d, and that’s what I’ve bought. The engine is much nicer, and yes a 6 pot. The 4 Series is on runout now but the tech is still pretty decent - the latest ones have the digital instruments now, but in the classic round dial rather than the new 3’s bar graphs...
Yes, it’s a diesel, but the deals to be had are pretty good at the moment. I picked up a full spec preregistration at 48% discount to list, so at £25k I’d take the risk (£49k list!!).
Picking it up on Friday.

Good god that is some discount!
Are the 4 series deep discounts / cheap leases coming already because the new one is out in June? eg when should I start sniffing about
The cheapest pre-reg cars seem to be coming directly from BMW GB - dealers can't get anywhere near those sorts of prices on new cars - so at the moment at least there don't seem to be any great deals on dealer stock. Are the 4 series deep discounts / cheap leases coming already because the new one is out in June? eg when should I start sniffing about
I'm absolutely sure it's fuelled by the new 4 Series coming out this year, and the new model won't be at those sort of discounts.

I had a E90 330d and it was a fantastic all round car I thought(always fancied a 430d too), lovely torque and effortless performance. The 430d will be a much bigger step up in performance over what I had in the 330d for sure.
Enjoy picking it up.

Where do BMW GB sell the cars then - I had assumed through BMW dealers?!They are recognisable as the VRN plates always begin with a "Y".

So to find them, its the BMW AUC site rather than Autotrader? Might be tempted to do a swap from my 5 series. They are recognisable as the VRN plates always begin with a "Y".
I found mine at Sytner (but it wasn't on BMW AUC or AT)...….. https://www.sytner.co.uk/

Blown away you picked that up for, what was it, 25k?I sold my 435D GC 15 plate with 30k miles and a decent spec for 21k this time last year. To only pay 4k more for a basically brand new one is nuts.
What’s the spec if you don’t mind me asking? And was there service pack included or added?
My only suggestions would be to get some gtechniq wheel armour on those alloys and see if it helps stop corrosion at all. Diamond cut are so bad for it.
And to see how you feel about those Potenzas (assuming the cars come with them) and think about swapping them for another tyre. I found them such a hard ride. Can have the potenzas put back on when you come to sell.
Other than that, enjoy! Cracking purchase.
The standard spec is pretty full with Pro Nav, electric heated memory seats but it also has:
M Sport Plus pack - 19 inch wheels, Harman Kardon, bigger blue M brakes, sun protection glass
Interior comfort pack - heated steering wheel, comfort access (switched off!), folding mirrors, addl storage
Park assist pack - reverse camera, surround camera a d park assist
And even better it has the Goodyear Eagle F1’s not the dreaded Bridgestones! Thanks for the advice on the wheels, they definitely can be a problem.
BMW don’t offer service packs anymore -it was gradually watered down over the years - there is only now a monthly payment plan, which didn’t seem like it was worth doing.

Yeah, it was a cracking deal, only 11 miles on the clock and a decent spec too:

Wow.... that’s pretty much full spec then or at least all the bits anyone cares about and it’s it’s a sport plus. I’m blown away. The standard spec is pretty full with Pro Nav, electric heated memory seats but it also has:

So out of curiosity I was looking at sytner and couldn’t see any others anywhere near this price or discount. Was this something you negotiated with them, they told you about when you were already looking at the other cars with them?
I’m thinking I better keep an eye out on their deals on any estates these next couples of years haha
