On my old Lancer I found a chap in the USA who made these air vent fitments that fitted into the radiator surround and fed fresh air directly into the air feed tubing leading to the airbox. As in the picture.
Does anything like this exist in the BMW world ?
Cheers
Brian.

Thanks all, that looks just the thing I am after. I'll send a few enquiries to see if anything is available or adaptable for a 2015 Active Tourer 225i Xdrive F45.
Cheers
Brian.

Not what I was expecting!
Ah yes, but a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
I rather like the idea of wolf/sheep !

The air intake is Y shaped, each arm of the Y over each half of the kidney grill, at the top, then a long channel to the airbox. There is nothing to direct the air into the intake so that is what I want the scoops to do (as on the old Lancer) so the airbox gets a good supply.

Over the next year and not necessarily in this order it is ..., improve air intake +decent filter, uprated brake pads (might look at changing rear sliding callipers to something better), possible lowering springs but not much and don't want to spoil ride comfort, replace run flats with proper tyres, change to a Sports cat, look at centre pipe to see if that has a second cat and if it can be deleted, engine and gearbox remap, nothing extreme but release a bit more, make it a fun car to drive.

That's the plan at the moment but a lot of research to yet do, loads of questions to ask and decisions to make but not in any rush.

Cheers
Brian.

It's a Mini platform, so maybe look at the engine mods of the equivalent Mini Countryman as there seems to be a lot more available for that.
Thanks, not thought of that, I'll keep it in mind.
Cheers
Brian.
