2nd or 3rd Gen X3

Hi all.

Me and the mrs were looking today at the 2nd gen x3 35D..a low mileage one can be had for around 25k..during this though I kept eyeing up the latest gen M40i..which can be had for around 38-40k. Is there a massive step up in generations that would be worth shelling out the extra? cheers

Cheers for the replies- doing the sums now could only really stretch to a 30d or 35d. The 20d of the latest generation is late twenties and the 30d is too out of budget.
