Tappety Engine

Hi All,

New to the forum and new to BMW!

I have just taken ownership of an E46 330i Sport Touring which in general I am very pleased with apart from one thing....

I think that the engine is slightly tappety (spelling?) on tickover. It sounds like a single tappet that seems to be doing it and I just wondered if it is was common?

If not, do you think having a tappet reset (or whatever) would come under the warranty?

P.S. it has done 39000 miles if that makes a difference.
