Ive been fortunate (or misfortunate enough depending how you look at it) to have been given a 55 plate 530d M sport hire car whilst an insurance claim goes through for the total loss of my old modded Volvo S60 T5 (A talentless Honda Civic driver travelling toward me failed to negotiate a left hand bend and wiped me out!)
Anyway Id kind of been hankering after a 535d for a while due to my £250 a week Optimax habit and was so impressed with the 530d's oomph I thought Id take a 535d M sport out for a spin with a view to placing an order.
It was clearly faster in the mid and upper range but the throttle response at the bottom end felt considerable slower to a point where the 530 felt substantially quicker away from the lights.
The test 535 car only had 700 miles on it but could this a contributable factor in its sluggishness?
Any 535d owners out there that could enlighten me.....I felt kind of dissapointed as I had my cheque book with me and everything!
The other bizarre thing was the car on standard 18" run flat tyres seemed to ride worse that on the optional 19" wheels with normal tyres fitted!

Ive bitten the bullit and put a deposit down on this 55 plate 535d M Sport Individual. Dont think Ive ever seen this colour combo and it looks even better in real life.
Picking it up next Wednesday...I cant wait
. it has an Individual interior, Media and Visibility packs,sunroof, style 172 19" wheels, rear spoiler and Ive also asked for the rear windows to be tinted prior to delivery.
May give it a week or 2 before I ring DMS
