Does anyone know of a fix for a dark screen on the sat nav on my X5. It has always been a bit dark but now of a night I cannot see the screen even with the TV on. However with the interior light on I can see it a bit better. Is there an illumination bulb within the unit?

During the day it is now very hard to see. The car is 02 reg.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks it is a good point, but no good, as it made no difference.

Hi

I managed to get into the secret area, but I cannot access any of the settings under the video settings. All it shows me is are the actual settings that I have. I cannot adjust them.

Any more info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Your being a great help. I am in the menu that you mentioned but instead of brightness I have contrast. Mine is in an 02 reg car, maybe I am still not in the right menu or my computer is slightly different, I have put up the contrast that has slightly improved matters.

Thanks again for the help

Looking at your pictures of the monitor they are a lot brighter than mine have ever been. I reckon that I need a new one!, or I could take it apart as described in an ealier post.

Thanks for the help though!

Cheers

yes
The red on light on the unit goes from darker to lighter when I move the dial, but no difference to the screen.

The TV picture is not too bad during daylight though.

The worst is on the menu screen for darkness.
