My driver's side wiper arm is free to turn independently of the passenger side (which is operating normally). The result is that the wiper arm either stays in the down position or flings itself out wide and jams on the wing mirror. I've just had to drive 10 miles home with near zero visibility - uber scary!

Does anyone know how to get to the linkage? Google has not turned up any walk throughs.

Thanks

This is Shelley's boyfriend here. I think the wiper arm on the drivers side is intermittently attached to the linkage. The drivers side wiper arm doesn't always work and it's possible to turn it manually independantly of the passenger arm. Really just need to know how to gain access to the linkage to take a look. We haven't got round to getting a manual yet. Many thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks agent006, I'd completely forgotten about E30zone - despite being a member! redface There is a good descriptive article on there that explains exactly how I get to the bits I need to.

Re the wing mirror comment, possibly a bad description on my part, waxaholic. The wiper arm doesn't stop (or return) when it reaches the top of its arc, it continues off the edge of the windscreen and is stopped only when it hits the wing mirror, then there is obviously not enough power for the motor to drag it back onto the screen again, so it's just sitting against the wing mirror.
