E90 AUX iPod cable?

I picked my E90 330d last week and it came with an AUX iPod port in the armrest. A couple of questions:
1) On the BMW site it looks like the cable should be exactly the same as the USB cable used to connect the iPod to the computer, except in place of the USB cable is a male AUX connector. Is this correct or is it just a male to male AUX lead that you can get off ebay?
2) If I do need a specific lead from BMW (I have the prof radio set-up so would like the multi-function steering wheel to work with the iPod - note, no iDrive) where the hell do I get it from? Just called BMW and they didn't have a clue! Apple shop don't have a clue, Curries don't have a clue... and now I don't have a clue!
