320D touring E91

Car with BMW at the moment due to my reported fuel leak , when tank is brimmed. Dealer has told me this is not uncommon and would probably be a breather pipe.

They just phoned and confirmed.

Price of part £20

Labour £500 4 hours work at £123 per hour, Tank to be removed ?

Told them to forget it and return car.

They then said they may get goodwill from BMW but might take a few days.

Is this a common fault, any comments please

Car still with dealer , they have requested a goodwill from BMW, we shall see?

the car is 55 plate, 34,000 miles, i owner etc,

It is already the subject of a ' goodwill' from BMW as the traction control packed up requiring the replacement of a unit costing around £1200 plus £600 labour.

BMW have offered ( I accepted ) free part plus 50% labour .

Still going to cost me to £308 incl VAT etc.

There is also a misting up headlight , replacement cost apprx £900 would you believe.

I have had many BMW 's 520, 540, 740 and all have had their problems, but I think this is the worst of them all.

Qiute honestly wish I had bought the new Mondeo offered to me at less money on an 08 plate , V6 petrol and 8000 miles. The fuel cost on my mileage would already be covered by the costs on the BM.

I am not really griping but £123 labour charge is crazy. I do have a good Indy but he , of course , cannot go for the ' goodwill'.

Ah well , I will keep you advised
