Thinking of buying a reasonable set of textiles, that have good amour and are waterproof.
Suitable for winter albeit I will not ride below about 5 degrees.
I think my top is around the £500 mark. I am after a short jacket and trousers to match.

My two questions, are they cheaper now in the so called summer and does anyone have a good recommendation, where and what to buy.

Thank you
David

I have just bought an Alpinestars Andes set of textiles for about £340.

A really good piece of kit. 2 piece that zips together, integral waterproof lining with removable thermal layer. Quality stitching, lots of internal and external waterproof pockets and uselful "Adventure" style half zip on jacket. Shoulder, elbow and knee CE armour with optional back protector.

Sizing is slightly strange. I am 6' with a 34" leg and 32" waist and needed a Medium jacket but Large jeans to grt the length. Jeans come with integrated braces so no issues.

I looked at RSV, Spada, Buffalo etc and these worked out best; a step up in quality but a good price.
Thanks for the replies, I tried these on today and agree the cost and quality against the other options in store this does seem a very good buy. The jacket length is my only concern. Its not a short front like my leather jacket, nor long like a touring jacket, its somewhere in between. I am 6'3'' and 48/50 chest so fit a XXL, I think it was.
Jacket length aside, I need to put it on and sit on my bike, I think they are the winner so far. Have you tried them in the hot weather with liner out ?
