I think I will be this weekend, the temps have dropped well below 10 degrees here and that's enough for me, combined with the amount of leaves and debris covering the roads its time to park it for the year, I have all the winter gear and heated grips etc but I get no pleasure in getting all hot and sweaty getting ready then having to spend an hour cleaning the bike every time I go out, I'll give the bike a deep clean, cover it in acf50 hook it up to the ctek, pump up the tyres and that will be that.

Been a good year, only 2 bike changes this year which is quite good for me biggrin

I ride all year. Not sure why one would lay one's bike up?
1 Because its cold
2 I don't want to ride peering through a filthy visor (coupled with the low sun if I am very lucky) trying to avoid all the ste on the road
3 I don't want to cover my bike in salt and watch it rust away
4 I don't want to clean my bike every time after a ride
5 Because its cold
6 Up here (Cumbria) its properly cold, unlike the soft Southern weather.
7 Can't be arsed with the faff of getting ready and trying to stop draughts, then having to do it all again each time you stop.

This pic was taken on the 16th Sept, it gets cold here

I could go on.......

Deflate tyres

Anything else?

Don't have a trickle charge...
Don't deflate the tyres, but disconnect battery and take it indoors.

It was a nice day today, that's me done, bike has been deep cleaned and polished and is now parked, going to have to buy something to fiddle with during the winter.

This is why you should never ever put it away. 18 degrees warm wind keeping the roads dry, there isn't even a single wet leaf let alone wet road..I have had worse days in July! Out all day today and tomorrow and Sunday. Next thing you know it's nearly Spring again..
You obviously don't live anywhere near me then, we have had severe flooding, gale force winds and the roads are covered in all sorts of ste, mainly leaves, trees and mud, I need to move from the Lakes frown

I ended up going out on the bike today, needed something from Lancaster (20 miles away) and the motorways were closed, I had a good ride out, although I might have to buy something a bit quicker now as I'm finding 70bhp a chore on faster roads.

Great... I have my mod 2 booked in early November... wondering whether to buy winter gloves for it, and you seasoned road warriors have parked up for the season...
You’ll learn.

4 degrees up here at 8am
That's warm, it was 2 here at 6.30am, had to turn the heated screen on to defrost the windscreen, and the gritters have been out already so that is definitely the end of the season for me.

We don't live in Finland. No danger of ice or salt on the road as yet.
Why do you need a season for it?
Tell that to Cumbria County Council, the roads have been gritted, it was -1 at 7am on Saturday morning.
