fancying a lighter weight lid for next year, anyone using one of these, and how do you find them if so?

Cheers guys. I have an unintentionally large heed :-) so ideally I'd like to try one in xl before parting with cash, sounds like these are worth a try .

I've got a big head and take an XL, at least my last 3 Arai RX7s have been XL and have fit fine but the latest variant (RX7-V, IIRC) was simply too tight at the opening and I couldn't even get it on my head.

I'm told (by several suppliers) that Arai don't import the XXL version so I looked at other helmets and found the X-Lite in XL is a perfect fit, in fact due to it's 'plusher' interior it's a better, more comfortable fit than the Arai.

I think the problem is that XL size varies slightly between manufacturers; Arai list XL as 60 - 61 and X-lite as 61 - 62 pus there are variations due to manufacturing, shape etc. My head measures 62 and whilst previous Arais have fit me fine, I think they must have reviewed their sizing slightly?

I did try the XXL in the X-lite and whilst it didn't feel that much different to the XL, I suspect it may have 'given' too much after bedding in? So I would say X-Lite sizing is about spot-on as per the stated numerical measurement (as is probably Arai now, but not so previously).
i've never found an Arai that isnt a bit painful when tried on, always had Shoei in XL so i'm going to try one of these for size i think.
