2018 biking goals
Discussion
Well I've spent the half hour next to my ACF-50 covered bikes sobbing that they're away and I've run out of reasons not to spend time with my family, but thankfully my thoughts turn to next year.
So, same as last time chaps. Anyone care to share their 2018 biking goals with the collective?
Mine are;
1) At least one track day
2) An off-road motorcycle course
3) Do at least 4,000 miles on the Uganda Twin
4) Do at least 2,000 miles on the GSXR
5) At least three big tours up the highlands.
Stretch goals would be;
6) A ride in Europe before it's made needlessly difficult.
7) Get pattern fairings and restore the old CBR.
Based on the level of success in the last thread, if you like you can time save and just score out your goals, then add your excuses for failing now.

Wow everyone makes it sound so bucket list
I'm just happy with enjoying biking ...... and as much as I can
Agree with MTB. Rather than a bucket list, I think it's more as a group of people vaguely sharing a pastime, we're just curious about what others are actually getting up to, and as most of us hang up our leathers for winter, we do tend to plan for the next year. Especially given the financial and time burdens.I'm just happy with enjoying biking ...... and as much as I can
That said I'm similarly happy to enjoy motorcycling, breathing, voiding fluids at various intervals, and converting chemical energy into sarcasm. As much as I can.

This year was my annus horribilis (no, not a "horrible anus"). Health problems meant I lost my job and had to sell the GSXR sadly.1) At least one track day

I did however start to feel the love for the whole "adventure bike" thing. I managed to get some good miles on the Uganda Twin including a trip to the outer Hebrides with some mates. I also managed a fair amount of,"light" off road use, and visited some great roads I'd never be able to take another vehicle. I've learned these bikes really do have their niche if you've got the opportunity to use them properly, frankly living in Scotland and owning a motorcycle is amazing.
I also bought a compressor and taught myself to change my own tyres (local garages want £70 for ride in/out now)... Crap year, but definitely the highlight has been the bike!!
