I am in desperate need of a super bike for the occasional Sunday blast and track day and remember reading about this edition when it was first launched. Can anyone here shed some light on ownership experience?

Also what was supplied with these bikes from new?
So far I have:
Termo exhaust
Sports ecu unit (is this separate?)
A cd and USB for data logging
Is there a unique paddock stand and cover for this as well?

Great photos! Nice to hear everyone is very positive about the model only helping me to make my decision. For me the colour palette for the tricolore makes the bike very unique, especially since it is one of the last pre-Audi era bikes, and while there are no real advantages over the 1098s I for one am willing to pay over the odds to get my hands on this edition.

So to confirm there wasn't an additional exhaust/slip on supplied with the bike or a unique cover etc?

I too love the 999 (one of the minority I know) but the high maintenance puts me off and it would be a shame not to use it extensively as it is surely such a great machine.

To the OP - I'm quite sure this was the one I looked at, at the start of the year at another Ducati main dealers as I recognise the dodgy clutch cover and the rest of the details are the same. It was on Sale or Return with the original first owner at the time, but we couldn't do a deal on price.

Yes I saw this one! So many 1098s have this modification and I couldn't work out what was standard! I am looking for a completely original example
