Aftermarket replacement radiator for 848 Evo?

I've not really been using my bike much over the winter months but decided to take it for a run on Saturday. Got it out of the garage and started it up, had a little steam coming from the radiator within a few minutes. I thought it was just a little condensation burning off, continued getting geared up when i saw a large puddle of coolant forming underneath.

It seems to be coming from the middle of the matrix with no obvious stone damage.

An OEM replacement is about £750 new and second hand ones seem to be between £2-300 but obviously no guarantee on them.

Are there any companies out there making pattern parts? So far I've only found one US based company but I'd rather buy from the UK if possible.

I'm pretty much certain it is, it's coming from just above dead centre of the matrix and the hoses are dry so must be radiator.

Can you not have it repaired and re cored?

I didn't realise that was a thing, hadn't even considered it. That could be the best way to go?

Only spoken to a couple of companies so far, prices were around 200 for a flat rad, 350ish for a curved one.

I think this will definitely be the route I go down

Finally pulled my finger out yesterday and got the radiator off. It's leaking from the site of a previous repair. I'm going to drop it off to a local repair place tomorrow to see if they can do anything with it.





On the plus side, I'm going to take the opportunity to give it a bloody good clean while it's naked!
