The rear tyre on my new bike is getting a bit low on tread so looking to replace the pair, I’ve gone for Pirelli Supercorsa V3s on my previous bike- a Panigale V4 as it was the OEM tyre and one of the very few that came in 200/60,good tyre bit got really annoyed with how easily they picked up punctures.
The R1 uses a 200/55 which gives me a fair bit more choice.
What are the current offerings from Metzler and Michelin in this category?, always liked K3s in the past although their wear rate was bad even for a performance tyre-got 1100 miles out of a rear on an S1000RR!.

I've just fitted a set of Michelin Power GP to my S1000R and so far they have been great.

They've done around 200 miles on the road and a track day at Croft last week at mid inters pace and they are holding up surprisingly well, i expected a lot more wear from them after being on track all day.

Grip, feel, turn in rate, stability were all bang on for me.
Thanks, they sound ideal for me, are they harder in the middle and softer at the edge like Michelins used to be?, just looked and they don’t seem to come in 200/55.

The dont? I am surprised by that.

But yes they are a dual compound tyre.
You can see quite clearly here where the compounds change.

It doesn’t look like they do on their website, looks like a choice between Power RS or Power Cup 2.

I’m a bit out of touch with most other tyres over the last few years as having had Aprilia then Ducati have gone for Pirelli Supercorsas, which as a tyre I’ve always really liked but I kept picking up punctures on them on the Panigale so want to try something else, I really liked the Pilot Power 2CTs a few years ago.
Not sure if Dunlop’s are good these days either?.

I think it’s going to be between Power RS or Racetec K3s this time around.
