I was pondering getting another 1,000 miles out of the Metzeler Z8 tyres on my bike. Only I just noticed the rear has gone flat. Pumped it but cannot find the puncture anywhere.

The candidate tyres are:
Michelin Road 5 (aka Pilot Road 5).
Metzeler Roadtec 01

The main criteria are:
Good wet weather grip, good cold weather/winter grip.
Good mileage; won't square off fast with regular trips down motorways.
Good puncture resistance, if there is even any difference between tyres.

Would be interested to hear about the Metzeler Roadtec 01 in particular. It gets good reviews, eg

For the Road 5s, do you want the Road 5 GT version with the heavier sidewall if it is going on a touring bike?
