North West 200
Discussion
I couldn't see a thread for this year's NW200 so thought I'd start one for anyone interested.
Looks like a great lineup again and some interesting returning names popping up.

Anyone got any thoughts on who's going to be at the sharp end?
For the superbikes I think Hickman, Harrison, Irwin, Brookes or maybe Todd... so expect someone completely different to walk away with it.
Lee Johnston for the super sport maybe? He's going well in BSB SS again.

I will be heading up on Sat for the days racing and hope to finish work early enough on Thurs to get up for the evening racing tbh.
as always will show support to Dunlop but think that he will be hard pushed to win the superbikes this year tbh.
I would agree regarding Dunlop.as always will show support to Dunlop but think that he will be hard pushed to win the superbikes this year tbh.
Would be great to see him go well but I think it's a stretch given that Hawk have only stepped in at the last minute so little time to put a bike together.
It was a member of the team's technical staff driving the car, apparently.

On the bright side, the front end looks better post accident.

The comparison is simple.
If you look at Cookstown, Tandragee, Billown, IOM they are bumpy, tight roads in places and open in others.
NW is fairly flat, not especially bumpy in comparison to the real road tracks and more like a real short track in many places than the TT course for example, OM is a proper track, but very very narrow.
For me there are three types of road course, the true stuff like the Irish stuff and green lanes of old, the TT, and then the more short circuit style road tracks like NW, Oliver's, Bathurst, even perhaps Macau or Aberdare, there is something that separates these tracks from full on short circuits, that's all.
I've never, ever heard anyone talk about the NW200 being a 'short circuit' style course. If you look at Cookstown, Tandragee, Billown, IOM they are bumpy, tight roads in places and open in others.

Don't know the bald fellas name (BBC NI presenter) but you'd think after all these years he would have figured out a way of getting Phil McCallen to shut his trap
The coverage has been excellent. I personally really like Philip McCallen, his commentary and expert opinion. I’m really pleased to see that Keith Huewen and Steve Parrish and from what I saw of their commentary (outside of work) it was top notch. Although, Parrish did at one point refer to the speed they were hitting on the "straight away", which almost had me reaching for the mute button for second!
Live coverage of today's racing is up and running:
