Posted this up on facebook Colin, and repeating here for Mark wink
Colin had his first weekend at Silverstone in his new motor

and now for something completely different...Colin fancied modifying and customising his Gen1 Viper into a unique road legal vehicle. Colin's on going project is now nearing completion, it has really moved on in the last six months, and I cant imagine the time consumed even after seeing a huge photo album he has put together showing all the build

The high lights of the build includes an adapted RT chassis, galvanised and powder coated in purple. Billet CNC ali wishbones and uprights with a 2" hydraulic lift kit for getting over speed bumps. The engine has a bigger cam, ported valves, T&D roller rockers and a Gen3 intake. with Gen2 crate wiring and PCM, along custom headers and a exhaust that runs under the centre of the car

mated to a Quaife sequencial gearbox, Quaife Diff, custom prop and half shafts. The car also has a electric variable power steering and adjustable anti roll bars. The Fuel cell is custom, going to Gen3 injectors. The body is carbon fibre, sprayed with 2 pack orange paint and laquar, the stripes are the carbon fibre

the side windows are custom glass/electric, the rear screen is polycarbonate and the front screen is factory Gen1. Interior is carbon, with a race technology digital dash. AP Racing 6 pot brakes up front and 4 pot on the rear with integral handbrake, with 5 Stud TVR light weight wheels. There are lots of other features I haven't mentioned !! but Colin has put his car together in his own garage by the side of his house which quite remarkable, doing nearly all the work from chassis welding, clay sculpturing the shape of the car then taking moulds to make the CF body panels and spraying them, and a million other jobs too

Mark, ill answer these to the best of my lowly ability until Colin pops up, so some of it will be wrong smile
he's out early in the morning for a well deserved holiday and im pretty sure he wont be online

Yes, it was a originally a red Gen1, which Colin has owned for something like 12 years.

Joel and I saw loads of the build pics, original Comp Coupe panels wouldn't fit so Colin made his own carbon fibre panels from scratch !! The only part of the body panels which is factory CC is the hood vents

the original RT was covered in clay which Colin worked into the shape of Comp Coupe, on the hood pic I guess it was about 70mm thick, several more processes, Colin had a mould which he could manufacture his own CF panels from. The roof/rear/bumper section is one huge piece(up to the window screen)

the car runs and everything works, though there was a slight issue with the clutch on Saturday

You could be right Dave, there was an Ex: Falklands Lynx helicopter on his front garden for a couple of years
