Hi guys the carpets in my chim have faded very badly,to what seems like a light green colour, but otherwise are in very good condition.

Anyway after a bit of research i came across this thread

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I decided to follow "swanjacks" idea and initially purchased 2 tins of charcoal grey from here.

I am very pleased with the results so far. I need to finish off the interior this weekend but heres a few pics of progress so far.

.

The last pic clearly shows the colour dye as you start to spray.
Final pic shows the rear shelf and bulkhead all masked off ready to dye this weekend.

Will post some pics of all the interior when its finished.

What did you do to prepare the capets befor spraying ?

Just hoover and wash ?
Just a good hoover. You could wash the footwell carpets[the ones that you can easily remove]if you wanted but make sure they are dry.

Which did you use , the 'upholstery spray' , or the 'soft fabric spray'

Looks good !
Use the upholstery spray and either rub well in with a cloth or use a nail brush or similar.
The vynil on the carpet edge can be wiped off straight away whilst it still wet.

Once dry i tried with a wet cloth to see if any off it came off and it doesnt.

I did remove both seats and the centre console, and masked off everything else before starting to spray.

Just finished putting it all back together, and i am very pleased with the results.
It took 4 tins of charcoal grey and 1 tin of red for the overmats to complete it all. So all in it cost about £60.00 but i did remove the seats, door cards and the centre console, so quite a bit of work involved.

Anyway heres a few pics of the finished job.
