Evening all,
Continuing with the effort of trying to get my car on the road, I finally managed to get round to filling the coolant up and bleeding the system. This is the first time the car has started properly in over a year so I expected a few things to not go right.
One thing that did concern me however was the smoke coming out of the thing on the rocker cover (forgive the complicated terminology!), is it supposed to do that? I'm sure I've seen it connected to something on other car photos:

I've been doing a bit of reading and a lot of people talk about positive and negative pressure within the engine, seems like everyone has a different opinion on it! But upon searching I ran into a post and some chap has done exactly the job with the catch tank:

Is this the kind of setup I should be going for?

Evening all!
Had another tinker with the car, mainly putting coolant back into it! Left the car going for a bit to let it warm up properly and noticed the oil pressure seemed a little low? Went up as I revved it but at idle looked low to me. I took another vid showing the flame trap chuffing as well:

Does it seem excessive to anyone as per comments above? I plan on installing a catch tank and then routing that into the PCV port on the carb.
Also is it me or does the engine sound a little 'tappy clangey' or is it just me? I'm sure my mates chim sounds a bit more 'robust'.

Afternoon!
I want to try and get this plumbed in correctly, does anyone have an pointers as to which hose I need to get for it?
I have noticed that there are holes in the bottom of the air filter base (I presume these are supposed to be plugged up?), so would it be best for it to go into the base of the air filter or the port on the carb?
